2023 Bucket List Destinations

From incredible beach destinations and city breaks to where to get married. Travel bloggers and our senior sales consultants give us their insights on the best 2023 Bucket list destinations you should visit this year.

Exotic destinations

JAVA

Travel blogger Cassie from Cassiethehag recommends Java.

“No destination has exceeded my expectations more than Java. Everything on this Indonesian island is bigger and better, from the world’s largest Buddhist temple to Tumpak Sewu, the wildest waterfall I’ve ever seen. From finding paradise in Karimunjawa to the astonishing active volcanoes, Mount Bromo and Java, travelling across Java is the ultimate bucket list trip if you’re up for an overland adventure.”

JORDAN

For Jacquelin Bradly, one of our senior travel consultants Jordan is one of the top destinations you should consider visiting this year and here is why:

“Jordan has so much to see from the wonders of Petra to a trip to the Wadi Rum desert with star gazing.  In Amman, there are rooftop bars, and you can do a cooking course and then eat what you have cooked or go to a bar and Rainbow Street for bars and street food. Laze around in the dead sea and get an all-over mud pack, relax at the beach, go canoeing or trekking through a national park and spend a night at an Eco hotel lit by candlelight. A weekend or a week Jordan has it all”

Caribbean Destinations

GRENADA

For travel expert Jsade Bernard Grenada makes the perfect Caribbean holiday.

“It is named the spice isle of the Caribbean and is formed of 3 islands. Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Located in the eastern Caribbean, I would highly recommend visiting all islands whilst you are in Grenada to be welcomed by the authenticity of this tri-island destination. This breathtaking destination is made up of 40 white sandy beaches, 15 amazing waterfalls, 5 chocolate factories, 3 rum distilleries and is home to the world’s first underwater sculpture park. Getting around the island of Grenada is extremely easy. There are several rental services available to rent a vehicle to explore the islands independently or for a more authentic experience, hopping on the public buses is also really accessible and easy to get into town and to many other areas of the island”.

Carnival Destinations

VENICE

Michele Frolla, Language Educator & Travel Content Creator from The Intrepid Guide has Venice on top of her list.

“If you love Italy then there’s nothing like experiencing the country’s biggest party in its most magical and beautiful cities. Visiting Venice in February for Carnival is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. People from all over Italy and the world dress up in decadent costumes and wander the picturesque canals and stop as strangers ask for their photos. There are lots of celebrations too including water parades, acrobatic performances in St. Mark’s Square, competitions for the best costume and many others. Here’s everything you need to know about planning a trip to Venice for Carnival.”

ANTIGUA

As one of our top destinations in the Caribbean, we have Antigua Carnival on top of our 2023 holiday bucket list. An incredible party holiday that you will never forget, full of street parties, colourful parades, events and music, there is no better way to get immersed in this fantastic culture than taking part in one of the most renowned events on the island.

TRINIDAD CARNIVAL

If you are a carnival goer then Trinidad Carnival is the ultimate carnival event in the Caribbean and around the world that shouldn’t miss. Take part in the many events throughout the week leading to Latern and enjoy the procession. Parades are themed and colourful expressions, put on the feathers and dance till you drop into one of the biggest street parties in the world.

Recently used SN Travel for the second time to help us with our annual holiday The booking process with Laura was great as always but everything after that was very poor. The hotel we stayed at was in the middle of a major upgrade with work starting early in the morning and lasting all day. It was noisy and dusty and not how I want to spend my holiday. The work was right outside our room and all round the swimming pool, see photos. Whilst I fully understand that this is not the fault of SN Travel other holiday makers had been warned and either moved to other buildings on the complex or changed hotels. Either SN Travel decided not to tell us this or they are not very well informed by their local agent. Either way you should question why you need to use them rather than go direct to the hotel or book online Our transfer from the airport, which they organised, was also a shambles but again they are taking no responsibility for that either. Make your own judgement as to whether you want to use this company, I think there are many better ones out there. We certainly won’t ever use them again

Nadeene is amazing to deal with. Not like most other travel agents who fob you off just to take your money. She genuinely makes an effort to cater to your specific needs. I highly recommend booking with SN Travel & Nadeene especially.

Sntravel exceeded the dream. We recently had 78 passengers in our group who booked with SNTravel to travel to Antigua for a 60th birthday staying at St James's Club and other parts of the island. Yvonne made the dream become the reality, dilligently working to accommodate everyone's need. An exceptional job and everyone has said until the next time. Thank Andrew & Dawn

My recent travel was sadly horrendous. The issues start with information for my flight to my hotel stay. I had to email and call SN for my final holiday details as my date for travelling were nearing. This filled me with anxiety. My hotel itinerary was different to my friends, I had room only booked with no breakfast meal, the lift to our hotel floor was not working properly, there was no one to help us with our luggage to our room on the 18th floor, we had no hot water to shower after travelling for hours, I could not close the blinds to my window, so was completely disposed to all to see me in my room, the room itself was not very clean. My friends in another room also experienced the same issues as well, and we spoke with other guests who were equally disappointed. We complained almost every day, and eventually spoke to the hotel director Bill Russell (that's the name he gave us) Bill informed us that a waiver of 1 nights stay would be returned to us as soon as SN travel were contacted and informed. Sad to say this was my first time using SN and will be the last. DO NOT GO TO THE MANHATTAN AT TIMES SQUARE HOTEL!!! This place needs to be completely refurbished. We await to find out if we will have further contact with SN Travel & The Manhattan.
