Travel in Luxury – Without the Price Tag
Luxury doesn’t just have to be all about the accommodation, it’s about making everything seamless, stress-free and enjoyable. No matter what type of accommodation you have budget for or where you are going, you can still add a bit of luxury to your holiday. Here’s how…
The luxury way to find a holiday
Deciding on where you want to go, researching the best area to stay in, finding the right hotel, the right deal, checking reviews, booking tours and airport transfers often takes a lot of time and effort and it can actually be annoying and stressful. Take the luxury approach and get someone else to do it for you. A travel agency can do everything and they are experts so they know what you will love. Simply explain what you are looking for and they can give you recommendations based on their extensive experience and knowledge. If there are any issues, the travel agency will resolve them for you. Travel Agencies can actually get some superb deals so it doesn’t mean that you will pay more either – plus you can pay with a deposit and make payments towards your holiday whenever you like as long as its paid in full 8 weeks prior to travel (12 weeks for cruises). Easy.
The luxury way to enjoy your time at the airport
Free unlimited champagne, as many breakfasts as you can eat (proper English breakfast too!), free soft drinks and cakes that you can take onto the plane, newspapers, great Wi-Fi, table service and plush peaceful surroundings away from the noise and crowds – airport lounges are awesome! If you are travelling long haul you will have to be at the airport for 3 hours, then you want to be able to sleep on the plan a bit (the champagne helps with that) so an airport lounge pass makes you feel like your holiday has already started. Airport lounge passes start from around £20 but do check what’s included as they are all different. And yes, you can get your travel agent to book this for you too!
The luxury way to arrive
After your champagne induced sleep on the plane you’re be feeling fairly rested so the last thing you want is to be stuck in an hour long queue to go through customs. Many destinations in the Caribbean, in particular, offer a fast-track pass through customers so you can get through quickly and avoid all the queuing, bliss! A fast-track pass will cost around £20 and your travel agent can arrange this too so you don’t need to lift a finger.
The luxury way to get to your hotel
So, you’re through customs before anyone else, you’ve picked up your duty free and are ready to head to your hotel. Rather than ruining your so far seamless journey waiting in taxi queues and risking being ripped off with extortionate prices (what is it with airport taxi’s abroad?!), or trying to find a bus or transfer, simply get your travel agency to book a private transfer for you, There will be someone waiting for you with your name on a sign and again you avoid queues and drama and get to your hotel quickly. Win!
The luxury way to start the day
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so what better way to start the day that having breakfast delivered to your room so you can have breakfast in bed, or better yet, breakfast on your hotel balcony. Some hotels include this service for free and some you will pay a small charge but it’s worth it as you start the day relaxed and ready for a hard day of chilling on the beach!
