Barbuda Needs our Support
It’s little over a week since Hurricane Irma created untold damage to the beautiful island of Barbuda, part of the Caribbean twin island nation of Antigua and Barbuda, with over 95% of the island’s infrastructure destroyed. What was once the destination of choice for Princess Diana and the location for Robert de Niro’s luxury development Paradise Found Nobu, Barbuda has now been reduced to nothing more than rubble and much help is needed to help rebuild this former Caribbean paradise island.
De Niro has pledged his unfaltering support to help bring Barbuda back to life and many more have shown their support in the days following the catastrophe. The government of Antigua and Barbuda has already set to work with relief and rebuilding efforts with Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Minister Asot Michael stating that “The Government will do whatever it takes in the short term to get Barbuda on its feet again. However, the best way to help our islands as we return to normal is for visitors to continue with their vacation plans or make plans to visit us soon to experience at first hand the warmth and hospitality of our people.”
SN Travel has worked closely with the nation of Antigua and Barbuda for many years and has strong links with the islands. We are devastated that the tiny paradise island of Barbuda has been so horrifically destroyed by the force of nature and wish to show our support in every way we possibly can. We are currently making some much needed fundraising plans, details of which will be posted in the very near future. However, as stated by the Tourism Minister for Antigua and Barbuda, the best way to show your support is to continue visiting the island of Antigua, untouched thankfully by the storm. Antigua remains a stunning location for a Caribbean holiday, with 365 beaches for each day of the year.
We have a superb portfolio of accommodations in Antigua and offer competitive flights to the island so why not take a look today. Not only will you be booking a holiday of a lifetime to one of the most beautiful places in the world, you’ll also be supporting this Caribbean nation in rebuilding and bringing Barbuda back to life for its people and the rest of the world.
