The Most Romantic Holiday Destinations in the World
When we think of romantic destinations we automatically conjure up images of Rome, Paris and Venice but in real life these destinations are crowded, over priced and hectic. If you are after a real romantic holiday destination, then these are at the top of our list and here is why…
Halong Bay, Vietnam
Stay on a traditional Junk boat and spend a few days sailing the calm waters of the Gulf of Tonkin where thousands of rainforest topped islets jot out of the emerald sea. Kayak to private beaches by day and enjoy spectacular sunsets by night. With no more than 5 other couples onboard this intimate experience is perfect for a romantic holiday; you can jump off the ship into the seas for swimming amongst the rock formations and sit on the top deck at night and watch the stars. The boat will stop at several attractions including some impressive caves.
The Maldives
Stay in luxury accommodation with views of some of the best beaches in the world. A holiday to The Maldives gives you plenty of quality time together. Snorkel amongst coral reefs to see turtles, whale sharks and manta rays, take a scenic flight or have a romantic candle lit dinner over the water. Much of the activities in the Maldives involves water and marine life – wild Dolphins frequent many islands and are great entertainment as they are very playful. There are also some places like Vaadhoo, one of the Raa Atoll islands in the Maldives, where you can see bio-luminescence which causes the sea to glow in the dark – its absolutely magical! It’s no wonder the Maldives are a popular honeymoon destination too!
Finland
Finland is ideal for a short European holiday if you don’t have time to go further afield. It will be cold so you’ll have to snuggle up to keep warm! Stay in Finland’s Lapland (where Santa lives) in a glass roofed bungalow so you can see the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights. With your own private sauna and fireplace it’s the perfect romantic setting. Enjoy fun snow activities like snowmobiling, skiing or snowball fights. If you want to see the Northern lights you need to visit between September and March.
Sail Around Tahiti on a Yacht
Yeah yeah it sounds expensive, but you can actually sail around Tahiti in a yacht with a private cabin for about £200 a day (all food included), its an incredible experience and a great way to see more of your destination in one holiday, with little effort. Sail around gorgeous islands amongst coral reef and the bluest seas, enjoy bird watching, visit a pink sand beach and swim in this paradise’s lagoons. Read more about yacht holidays.
St Lucia
