What To See And Do On Your Las Vegas Holiday
No holiday to Las Vegas is complete without a little dabble on the blackjack table – and there’s definitely no shortage of casinos in the city that never sleeps. There are 104 casinos in total, including the world-famous Caesar’s Palace and Bellagio, so you don’t have to go far to try your luck and take a spin on the wheels. For thrill seekers, there are loads of adrenaline-fuelled rides and rollercoasters to really get the blood pumping. Why not try X Scream at the top of the Stratosphere Tower – the world’s third highest amusement ride, which teeters over the edge of the hotel before dangling perilously over the Las Vegas Strip. Or there’s the VooDoo Zipline, which soars riders 490 feet in the air in between the Rio Hotel’s Two Towers.
Located only 250 miles from Las Vegas, a trip to the Grand Canyon is without question one to tick off the bucket list. Take in the spectacular views of the rugged desert landscape and the newly built Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge during the coach ride there, then be awe-inspired as you gaze upon the magnificent scenery of the Grand Canyon. To really make it a trip to remember, take a helicopter ride through 20 miles of the Grand Canyon before descending 3,200 feet to the floor for a beautiful champagne toast. Cheers!
If you love a spot of kayaking, then a holiday to Las Vegas is for you. Tackle an action-packed 4- or 12-mile trip down the beautiful Colorado River, drinking in the amazing sights and local wildlife as you paddle along. The 4-mile tour starts from Willow Beach, travelling upstream into Black Canyon then onto Emerald Cave after snacks, where you’ll have time to cool off in the tranquil emerald water. If you choose to upgrade to the 12-mile tour, you’ll begin from the base of the majestic Hoover Dam, stopping shortly at a viewpoint to see some of the best sights the area has to offer. You’ll also travel to the Black Canyon, but from here you’ll be able to stop at a 100-degree hot springs to really relax an unwind. Then, like the 4-mile tour, it’s onto Emerald Cave and back to Willow Beach.
And, of course, Las Vegas is home to some of the best shows in the world, so it’s well worth catching one or two on your holiday. From the incredible Cirque du Soleil to the latest residency artists, pretty much any taste is catered for, and it’s the perfect opportunity to see some of the world’s hottest stars right on your doorstep.
